Job Summary

We are looking to expand our team of Animal Technicians at our world class facility here at Tranent.

Candidates must have a passion for working with animals and share our commitment to their welfare. In this role you will perform routine and moderately complex animal husbandry and clinical observations in a regulatory compliant laboratory setting. You should have a minimum of 4 Nat 5 or equivalent qualifications.

This is a physically demanding role so you need to be active and on your feet for most of the working day.

Responsibilities

• Husbandry duties / delivering essential care and well being services to the animals
• Positive interaction with animals, including providing treats, fruits and vegetables
• Participating in animal training programmes
• Handling animals for procedures
• Performing physical environment cleanliness and upkeep and maintaining accurate records
• Documenting animal behaviours and activities

Salary & Benefits

Starting pay £12.60 per hour (annual salary £23,842), and a generous benefits package including an 8% employer contribution pension scheme, volunteering and bonus opportunities.
