As Assistant Accountant, you will join as the key 'number two' to the Manager, looking after of a varied portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients across diverse sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare year-end statutory accounts from start to finish for a broad client base.
- Assist in preparing regular management accounts, budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Prepare and review VAT returns, ensuring full accuracy and compliance with statutory deadlines.
- Perform comprehensive bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations to maintain robust financial records.
- Serve as a trusted daily point of contact for routine client queries, building strong, lasting professional relationships.
- Work closely with colleagues across tax, advisory, and audit teams to deliver efficient, high-quality client solutions.
- Leverage cloud accounting software to streamline service delivery and identify value-add advisory opportunities for clients.
What We Are Looking For
- ACA / ACCA qualified or part-qualified.
- 3+ years' experience within a small-to-medium Irish accounting practice.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts from start to finish, strong bookkeeping and VAT knowledge.
- Professional communication style.
- A self-motivated team player capable of managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
