Assembly Team Leader

Responsibilities- Lead the day-to-day operation of the evening shift production team, ensuring Safety, Quality, GMP, Productivity and Waste targets are consistently achieved.
- Plan resources and manage the daily production schedule to ensure manufacturing and customer requirements are met.
- Train, coach and develop Production Operators, building capability across the team and ensuring standard work is consistently followed.
- Monitor production performance and KPIs, taking action to improve efficiency, quality and output.
- Drive Lean and continuous improvement activities, including 5S, problem-solving and waste reduction initiatives.
- Ensure manufacturing processes and documentation are completed accurately and in accordance with validated procedures and quality requirements.
- Identify and escalation process or equipment issues, working closely with Engineering and Quality to implement effective solutions.
- Support New Product Introductions, change controls, product trials and validation activities.
- Support quality activities including CAPA, audits and investigations.
- Promote a positive culture of safety, quality, teamwork and accountability across the production area.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team within a manufacturing environment, ideally 2 to 3 years.
- Comfortable working an evening shift and taking ownership of production activities during these hours.
- Engineering, Science or another relevant technical qualification would be advantageous.
- Experience within medical device, pharmaceutical or another regulated manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820/QMSR would be an advantage.
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate and develop team members.
- Good understanding of manufacturing performance, including productivity, efficiency, quality and waste.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement would be beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
