L3Harris Brighton is part of Release Systems and the Mission Avionics sector operating in the Aerospace domain. We design, manufacture and test release systems for major airborne fighter platforms such as the F-35, Gripen and Typhoon. The facility spans 48,500 square feet for the development of high performance, multi station solutions used to launch munitions.

What the role will involve
  • Build and test precision electro mechanical motors and other components to drawing and quality requirements.
  • Assemble components-solder wires, place tags, mount parts on boards or terminals, fit bearings, measure shaft radial and end play.
  • Carry out electrical tests and inspections using oscilloscopes, multimeters, vibration rigs and environmental ovens to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Assess returns for repair/refurbishment, determine repair requirements (DIRs), strip, clean, test and rebuild to specification.
  • Complete test documentation and maintain traceability of individual parts.
  • Operate safely, using PPE where appropriate.
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks outside the normal pattern of work as requested by the manager.
  • Assist in training other staff members when required.
  • Take supervisory responsibility within authorized limits when the supervisor is absent.
  • Support the design department in trials and pre production units.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to write manufacturing processes (route card narrative and planning) and provide process improvements for first batches of production units.
  • Support activities in other assembly departments as required.
What you'll bring
  • Electro Mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and Cirris test equipment.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring equipment and electronic test equipment such as DMMs, Meggers, oscilloscopes and power supplies.
  • Good understanding of mechanical and electrical drawings.
