ASD Tutor - 1:1 Support (20-Year-Old Learner)

Job Details

We are seeking an experienced and understanding Tutor to support a 20-year-old learner with ASD on a 1:1 basis.

The learner has diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and presents with needs across cognition and learning, communication and interaction, sensory and physical needs, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH).

This role requires a tutor who can provide structured, personalised support while building confidence, engagement, and independence in learning.

• Location: Fareham and Gosport
• Hours: 12 hours per week
• Start Date: September
• Type: 1:1 Tutoring

This is an excellent opportunity to support a young adult with complex needs through a calm, consistent, and learner-centred approach.

Requirements

• Experience working with learners with ASD and/or OCD
• Understanding of SEN needs across communication, cognition, sensory processing, and SEMH
• Ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs
• Patient, reliable, and empathetic approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience in tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or SEN support
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
