Asbestos Surveyor

Our client, an independent, UKAS-accredited asbestos analytical company specializing in asbestos surveys and testing. We are seeking a P402 Asbestos Surveyor to carry out a range of asbestos surveys in various properties. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in asbestos surveying, looking to contribute to a specialist company with a strong reputation in the field.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan and conduct site visits for management, refurbishment, and demolition asbestos surveys in domestic, commercial, and industrial properties.
- Collect samples and accurately record findings to prepare clear, compliant survey reports.
- Interpret building plans and identify asbestos-containing materials.
- Ensure all work adheres to current legislation, guidance, and company procedures.
- Liaise with clients on-site, explaining findings as required.
- Work closely with the laboratory and compliance teams to deliver timely, high-quality outputs.
- Maintain strict health and safety standards throughout all activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Recognized asbestos surveying qualification (e.g., BOHS P402 or equivalent).
- Up-to-date knowledge of asbestos legislation, guidance, and best practice.
- Experience conducting management, refurbishment, and demolition asbestos surveys across various property types.
- Proficiency in accurate data collection, use of handheld devices or survey software, and production of technical reports.
- Strong awareness of health and safety, including safe working practices and risk assessment procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working professionally with clients, colleagues, and contractors.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines independently.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites as required.
- Experience within a UKAS-accredited environment is an advantage.
- Right to work in the UK; a satisfactory background or reference check may be required.
