Profile

Our client is a UKAS accredited asbestos consultancy, providing the full range of asbestos services to a mixed range of clients. Due to an increase in workloads they are now looking to take on a competent and qualified Asbestos Lab Analyst based in and around the Dartford area. The ideal candidate will hold the P401 Qualification and will have extensive experience working in a laboratory within the asbestos industry carrying out analysis of asbestos materials and preparing bulk samples.

Experience & Qualifications

• Must hold the P401 qualification and have extensive experience working in a laboratory within the asbestos industry.
• Will have working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety Legislation.
• Must have excellent organisational skills.
• Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in using Microsoft office.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out analysis of asbestos materials and entering the results onto database, ensuring the data is accurate and in line with UKAS standards.
• Receiving and preparing asbestos bulk samples.
• Maintaining and developing UKAS accreditation systems.
• Ensuring that all analytical equipment used are kept clean and up to date.
• Liaising with clients and managers as and when required - dealing with issues effectively and appropriately.
• Assisting and maintaining the company's Quality Control system, etc.
• Solving problems pertaining to laboratory tests and making sure that the samples are stored appropriately or returned to the right place.
• Complying with the Health & Safety procedures.
• Getting involved with any other laboratory duties as and when required.
