As and When youth worker (23846)

We are seeking suitably qualified and highly motivated 'as and when' Youth Workers to join our Wellbeing on the Ward service (Project WOW) at Great Western Hospital, Swindon funded by the Integrated Care Board until 2028. We are looking for as and when workers who can cover during school holidays when our term time only youth worker is not available. There is scope for occasional additional 3 hour sessions on the ward during term time to cover leave and provide additional capacity to the service.

The role involves

• Getting alongside children and young people on the ward (and their parents) to promote their wellbeing through conversation and activity (eg games or craft)
• Providing signposting support to other services
• Referring to the Project WOW 6 week wellbeing intervention for young people aged 11+ in the community with long term conditions
• Ensuring that young people are central to the intervention provided, respecting young people's choice not to engage
