Job Description

We're working with a welcoming secondary school that sees education as more than just exams and grades. Of course, outcomes matter, but just as important is helping young people grow into confident, creative individuals who understand themselves and the world around them.

They're looking for an Art teacher to join them for a maternity cover starting in May, teaching across KS3 and KS4 in a school where creativity, character, and community sit at the heart of everything they do.

What makes this school special?

This isn't a place that runs on tick-boxes. Everything is shaped by three clear values, Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience.

You'll notice it straight away, in the way students support one another, how staff work as a team, and how challenges are handled with care, patience, and a real focus on growth.

The curriculum is broad, engaging, and designed to spark curiosity. Art plays a big role in that. It gives students the space to express themselves, explore different perspectives, and build confidence in their own ideas. From experimenting with materials to developing personal projects, pupils are encouraged to take creative risks and enjoy the process, not just the final piece.

There's also a strong focus on personal development. Students are encouraged to think independently, respect different viewpoints, and understand the world through both creative and cultural lenses.

The role
  • Teaching Art across KS3 and KS4
  • Creating engaging, hands on lessons that inspire creativity
  • Encouraging students to explore, experiment, and develop their own artistic voice
  • Building a classroom where ideas are valued and individuality is celebrated
  • Playing a part in a wider school community that cares about character as much as achievement
What we're looking for
  • UK QTS or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Art at secondary level
  • Someone who can step in with confidence and build strong relationships quickly
  • A teacher who values creativity, expression, and the bigger picture
  • Positive, adaptable, and ready to make an impact from day one
Why this role?

If you're after a school where you're trusted to bring your subject to life, supported by a team that genuinely has your back, and part of something that feels meaningful day to day, this could be a great fit.

It's the kind of place where students are encouraged to think differently, staff are valued, and creativity is given the space it deserves.
