Appointment as Chairperson to the Board of Voluntary Health Insurance Board ("Vhi Board")

The Minister for Health invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Chairperson to the Board of the VHI

Candidates wishing to apply must demonstrate in their application evidence of the following areas:

• A successful career history at senior executive level (e.g. industry or advisory) in complex organisations of scale
• Significant Board level experience (e.g. Chairperson and/or a Chairperson of a Board Committee) in complex organisations of scale
• Experience fulfilling a central role in the strategic direction, leadership and corporate governance of a large, complex organisation in a regulated environment that was or is engaged in transformational change or periods of growth
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to maintain and grow mutual understanding and constructive relationships with stakeholders including Board members, executive management and shareholders

It is also desirable that candidates demonstrate evidence of the following:

• Experience in the financial services sector
• Experience in a complex organisation in a regulated environment
• Understanding of the Irish and/or similar international health insurance market
• Understanding of the State-owned commercial enterprise stakeholder environment
