Application Developer (Java, PL/SQL)

Application Developer (Java, PL/SQL) - Contract role - Hybrid working/West Midlands - £485.00 per day

Synergize Consulting are now hiring for an Application Developer to work at a leading consultancy client, on a contract basis.

The successful candidate will be working within a programme of public sector transformation. This role will offer the opportunity to work on critical systems, and contribute to the delivery, stability, and continuous improvement of key services that support large-scale enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust applications using PL/SQL and Java.

• Build and enhance application components and services using Spring Boot.

• Ensure all code meets established engineering standards and best practices.

• Deploy, support, and maintain applications running on WebLogic.

• Collaborate closely with team members to ensure smooth integration of new features and components.

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, including system defects and performance concerns.

• Participate in peer code reviews and support continuous improvement of engineering practices.

• Work effectively within a cross-functional team to deliver high-quality outcomes

Experience required:

• A strong software development background that includes hands-on experience with PL/SQL development.

• Proven background in utilising Java and Spring Boot for developing applications

• Experience deploying and supporting applications on WebLogic.

• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced delivery environment.

• Experience working with large, complex enterprise platforms.

• Previous experience of working in an Agile team environment

• Strong communication and documentation skills.

• Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
