Anti-Social Behaviour Support Officer - Community Safety, Compliance and Enforcement -

Position Overview

Manchester City Council is seeking an Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) Support Officer to join the Community Safety, Compliance and Enforcement Service within the Growth and Neighbourhoods Directorate. The role is based at the Town Hall Extension, Lloyd Street, Manchester (M25DB). This is a temporary role running from 28July to 31December2026, paying £18.16 per hour (umbrella rate £23.10).

Key Responsibilities

• Apply a harm centred approach to casework, identifying victims and perpetrators, assessing vulnerability, and making appropriate referrals.
• Deliver on street community safety interventions alongside police colleagues, issue Community Protection Warnings and Notices, engage positively with perpetrators to promote compliance, and accurately record all interventions.
• Drive the partnership community safety van and represent the team at internal and external events.
• Collaborate with the police, fire service, voluntary and community sector, business forums, and other Council teams within an integrated neighbourhood management model.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Strong communication skills, active listening, empathy, and assertiveness.
• Sound understanding of ASB legislation.
• Experience with ICT systems for case recording.
• Full driving licence.
• Comfortable engaging with people in community settings.
• Flexibility to work shifts between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday.
