Job Overview

We re seeking a compassionate, hardworking Animal Care Assistant to join our hands-on care team. You ll be responsible for maintaining high standards of care and hygiene while supporting animals on their journey toward recovery and adoption.

Responsibilities

• Feed, groom, and clean animals and their enclosures
• Observe animal behaviour and report concerns to senior staff
• Support enrichment and rehabilitation activities
• Assist with basic medical care and record-keeping
• Ensure the environment is safe, clean, and welcoming
• Work as part of a small, dedicated team
• Interact with visitors and volunteers where required

Requirements

Previous experience working with animals (paid or voluntary)
Passion for animal welfare

Level 3 Diploma in Animal Care or equivalent

Comfortable with physical work (lifting, cleaning, outdoor tasks)
Reliable and able to work independently or in a team
Willing to work weekends and bank holidays

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience with e.g., exotic animals, wildlife, farm animals
• Full UK driving licence
