Anaesthetic Practitioner/ ODP/Anaestethic nurse

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic ODP / Anaesthetic Practitioner to join our friendly team of theatre practitioners. The role offers flexible work patterns, opportunities to facilitate change, and requires good interpersonal skills across various specialties such as Obstetrics, Colorectal, and Paediatrics.
The successful candidate must be able to work independently in all specialties.
Main duties of the jobThe candidate will work as part of the theatre team, liaising with Anaesthetists, scrub, and recovery teams. They will provide high standards of skills and support during each phase of the patient's perioperative journey, tailoring care to individual needs.
You will work across the operating theatre units at Croydon Elective Centre (CEC) and Emergency Surgical Centre (ESC). Responsibilities include preparing surgical anaesthetic procedures and all necessary equipment for various types of anaesthesia and patient recovery.

Person Specification Education and Qualification- Registered ODP / Anaesthetic Practitioner
- Enthusiastic, flexible, responsible, team player
- Good communication skills, initiative, related degree
- Experience supervising junior staff
- Basic computer skills
- In-depth knowledge of the speciality
- Ability to organise and manage department activities
- Problem-solving skills
- Team building and training experience
- Intravenous and drug calculation skills
- Managing difficult situations
- Clinical supervision experience, including management of rotas, resources, and staff
- Significant experience in Operating Theatre, especially in Paediatric, Obstetric, Trauma, and General anaesthetic practice
- Analysing detailed information and leading projects
- Punctuality and motivation
- Understanding financial management issues
- Experience leading change
- Willingness to learn and flexible working approach
This position requires a DBS check in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
