Anaesthesia clinician

Bristol Vet Specialists is seeking a residency-trained Anaesthetist to join our multidisciplinary referral hospital on a full-time basis. This role is initially maternity cover, with potential for a permanent position as service demand grows.

Join a collaborative team of 5 Anaesthesia Specialists, 3 residents and a large group of experienced anaesthesia nurses, supporting a busy and complex caseload in a world-leading referral centre.

The role

• Support innovation and clinical excellence within the Anaesthesia department
• Mentor and support Residents, Interns and nursing teams
• Work alongside multiple specialist services on advanced interventional procedures including TEER, atrial decompression and cardiac interventions
• Provide anaesthesia support and clinical advice across the hospital and sister referral centres
• Opportunity to undertake anaesthesia work at a local equine hospital

What we are looking for

• Residency-trained in Veterinary Anaesthesia (Diplomate preferred)
• Collaborative and supportive approach with enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring
• Interest in improving patient safety, clinical outcomes and service efficiency

About the hospital

BVS is a specialist-led, referral-only hospital offering Cardiology, Dentistry, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, ECC, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology and Surgery services. Our purpose-built hospital includes MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, radiotherapy, 5 theatres and dedicated canine and feline ICUs.
