Job Description
Allotment Volunteer

Location: Belburn Allotments, Darlington
Schedule: 3 hours per week, every Thursday
Training: Access to Waythrough's training platform, LearningKind, 1 day Induction Workshop prior to start

About the Role

Allotment Volunteers will support the running of a weekly allotment group, providing a friendly, welcoming face to participants and offering guidance on gardening and sustainable living practices.

Responsibilities
  • Help with setting up and packing away before and after each session
  • Provide support and guidance on all things allotment and gardening related, including season appropriate planting and plant care
  • Suggest how to cook the produce and share potential recipes
Qualifications & Personal Qualities
  • Interest in gardening and the outdoors
  • Knowledge of planting, growing and cooking seasonal produce
  • Professional, honest and committed
  • Basic IT skills - some e Learning based training will be required
