Aircraft Maintenance Engineer / Sheet Metal & Composite (SMW)

Overview

Position

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer / Sheet Metal & Composite (SMW) reporting to AIS Head of Operations - Helicopters. The AME "Sheet Metal & Composites" will perform structures modification work on aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and apply specified and basic sheet metal repair criteria.
• Work with or without an established specified repairs data sheet to drill, bend, rivet, dimple, file, grind, trim, countersink and install on aircraft structural assemblies and sub assemblies.
• Fabricate or repair defective sections or parts using metal fabricating machines, saws, brakes, shears and grinders.
• Use current Manufacturer's Maintenance Manual or Instructions for Continued Airworthiness appropriately.
• Possess strong knowledge of Part 145 activity and sign off relevant End user official documents in accordance with customer regulations.
• Operate within an AH/AIS team and liaise continually with the AH/AIS Head of Mission on site.
• When detached, work at customer premises and report to the technical point of contact.
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of the proper usage of current Manufacturer's Maintenance Manual or Instructions for Continued Airworthiness.

Qualifications & Experience

• Technical school diploma.
• 10 years or more working experience on Helicopters / Airbus product HF / Part 145 or FOD initial and recurrent training.
• Valid Part 66 licence; experience in a Part 145 organisation is an advantage.
• Airbus Helicopters Type Rating is welcome.
• Languages: English required; other local languages a plus.
• Computer skills required.
• Driving licence.
• Passport validity of more than 6 months.
• No criminal records.
