AI Engineer - Contract Role

AI Engineer Contract 12 Months Remote (from UK) £750-775/day Inside IR35

We have a new contract role for an AI Engineer focused on building cutting-edge AI and ML for a global client of ours in the media industry. This is a really exciting role to join on a long-term engagement as they look to kick off a new project.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-driven pipelines for video content analysis and metadata extraction.
• Evaluate and integrate existing AI models (e.g., Google Vertex AI) rather than building from scratch.
• Develop search indexing and retrieval systems for large-scale video content.
• Build and optimize backend processing systems using Python (non-negotiable).
• Deploy solutions on AWS/GCP cloud infrastructure.
• Work with vector databases (FAISS, Pinecone, Milvus, Weaviate) for search.
• Apply ML Ops best practices, CI/CD workflows, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Integrate foundation models (LLMs, vision models) via APIs and fine-tuning.

Ideal Candidate

• Strong background in Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, and Software Engineering.
• Hands on experience integrating AI models and building scalable systems.
• Comfortable working with content-heavy data (video experience is a plus).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Bonus: Experience fine-tuning models and taking POCs to production.
