Job Description

Join us as an Agile Product Owner to support the organisation in achieving its strategic objectives by identifying business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities.

To be successful as an Agile Product Owner, you should have the following skills/experience:

  • Experience with Agile change management and delivery methodologies.
  • Product Owner experience.
  • Senior stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of investment business and products.

You may be assessed on key skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology skills, as well as job-specific technical skills.

This role will be based in Glasgow.

Purpose of the role

To support the organisation in achieving its strategic objectives by identifying business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Identify and analyze business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation.
  • Develop business requirements to address these problems and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
  • Support the creation of business cases to justify investments in proposed solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of solutions.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Create operational and process designs to ensure solutions are delivered within scope.
  • Support change management activities, including developing traceability matrices to ensure successful implementation and embedding of solutions.

Vice President Expectations

  • Contribute to strategy, drive requirements, and recommend changes. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies and processes; deliver continuous improvements; escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
  • For those managing teams, define roles and responsibilities, plan for future needs, counsel employees on performance, and contribute to pay decisions. Lead specialists to influence operations, balance short and long-term goals, and ensure budgets and schedules meet requirements.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors: Listen and be authentic, Energise and inspire, Align across the enterprise, Develop others.
  • For individual contributors, serve as subject matter experts, guide technical directions, lead multi-year assignments, and coach less experienced team members.
  • Advise senior management on functional and cross-functional impacts and alignments.

  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability in risk management and controls.
  • Understand organisational functions to contribute to business goals.
  • Collaborate with support areas to stay aligned with business activities and strategies.
  • Create solutions through sophisticated analysis and innovative thinking.
  • Incorporate extensive research outcomes into problem-solving processes.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with stakeholders, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve objectives.
