Erskine Stewart Melville Schools Junior School are currently recruiting for an After School and Holiday Club Deputy Manager to join the e-Plus department on a part-time, temporary basis until June 2027, covering a maternity period. The position is available from May 2026 (subject to satisfactory pre employment checks). Hours of work are 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., Tuesday to Friday during term time and 21 hours during school holidays on a rota basis. Term time duties involve operating the P1 P4 service, while holiday duties involve operating the Nursery/P1 P7 services.
Responsibilities- Lead an effective and motivated team to deliver high quality out of school care that meets the needs of children and families.
- Support the Practitioner on a daily basis and evaluate the provision on a weekly basis.
- Ensure a consistent approach throughout the provision and support children and staff, being included in staff ratios on the floor.
- Maintain operational consistency and high standards during both term time and holiday periods.
- Experience working with children.
- Possession of or active pursuit of a recognised childcare qualification.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage staff ratios.
- Kind, enthusiastic, responsible, and able to prioritise the interests of children.
- Ability to work part time and adapt to shifting schedules.
£20,456 to £22,462 pro rated per annum, dependent on skills and experience.
Hours and LocationPart time, temporary until June 2027; begins May 2026 subject to checks. Term time hours: 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., Tuesday to Friday. Holiday hours: 21 hours on a rota basis. Term site: Queensferry Road; holiday site: Ravelston.
