Band 6 Advanced Theatre Practitioner (PCEU Windsor)

This is a full-time post for 37.5 hours per week.

PLEASE NOTE: This post is based at Prince Charles Eye Unit, King Edward VII Hospital, St Leonards Road, Windsor, SL4 3DP - and attracts a Fringe payment of 5% of gross basic salary.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for innovative and enthusiastic individuals with good clinical decision making skills and excellent communication skills to join our friendly team.

The successful candidate will demonstrate considerable ophthalmology surgery knowledge and theatre scrub skills.

The ability to demonstrate effective leadership and work in pressurized environment is essential.

Job responsibilities

To help coordinate the skilled care of patients within the surgical theatre speciality, demonstrating expertise in all aspects of care of patients.

As required, to provide direct support to clinicians and patients.

To contribute to the management of the specialty by acting as a professional role model, able to confidently lead a team.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • RN or RODP.
  • Mentorship or teaching and assessing qualification.
  • Post registration qualification/module in anaesthetics and/or surgery and/or recovery and/or HDU.
  • Advanced Life Support certification.
Experience
  • Able to demonstrate considerable experience in anaesthetics and/or surgery and/or recovery.
  • Experience of teaching and assessing.
  • Evidence of professional development.
  • Experience in team leading.
