We are introducing this exciting new role to enhance the care and support we provide. Abbeymoor is a CQC-rated "Good" neurological care nursing home, based in Gateshead. It supports individuals with neurological and degenerative conditions such as Huntington's and acquired brain injuries.

You will work alongside our dedicated nursing team to undertake a wide range of clinical and healthcare tasks, including but not limited to:

• Assist with residents' nursing care under the supervision of a trained nurse, including skin care, application of prescribed creams and eye drops, prompting residents to take medication, and dressing.
• Observe and report any changes in residents' conditions and communicate these verbally to the nurse in charge.
• Maintain accurate record keeping. Administer bolus and peg feeding. Reposition residents according to manual handling procedures and assist those unable to self-care with personal hygiene and dressing.
• Manage catheter and stoma care, including urine collection, pH balance assessment, bladder washout, and leg bag changes, ensuring compliance with all national standards and legislative requirements.
• Ensure the safe administration and management of medicines, including proper ordering, receipt, storage, recording, and administration in accordance with company policies and guidelines such as NICE.
• Keep care plans up to date, accurately reflecting residents' care, health, and wishes.

We provide comprehensive training, clinical supervision, coaching, and mentoring from our nursing team. There is also an opportunity to advance your career through the Nurse Associate Apprenticeship scheme, leading to registration as an NMC professional.
