Job Description

The Role:

We are currently recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker in our dynamic Recruitment and Stage One Team based at Glen House in Swanwick. You will be responsible for recruiting, assessing and supporting individuals who contact Adopt South to learn more about adoption and wish to begin the adoption assessment process. The purpose of this role is to prepare skilled and confident adopters who can meet the needs of children requiring safe and permanent families across our four regions.

Adopt South is the partnership Regional Adoption Agency for Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton local authorities. We offer a welcoming, inclusive and caring experience when people contact us and are interested in adoption. What you'll do:

You will undertake assessments, deliver training, attend recruitment events, and complete safeguarding checks while working within statutory frameworks for Recruitment and Stage One Assessment of the adoption assessment.

What we're looking for:

  • You will hold a Social Work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, and bring significant post qualifying experience with a strong understanding of permanence for children.
  • You will communicate clearly, manage sensitive conversations with confidence, and produce well reasoned, analytical reports.
  • You will be someone who helps others feel respected and at ease, demonstrating our commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
  • You will be organised, able to balance competing priorities, and committed to ongoing learning and professional development.
  • You will also be flexible and responsive to the needs of the service and the individuals you support, including weekend training, evening events and evening visiting.
