Head of the Police Municipal Department of Delémont announces the opening of a position for Head of Police at 100% Missions: In the context of your duties, you ensure the maintenance of public order on the municipal territory. You oversee municipal regulations and decisions of the municipal authority, prevent incivilities, and manage situations requiring intervention. You coordinate control and prevention actions and collaborate with municipal authorities and partners. Main responsibilities: you ensure the leadership and management of the service, you direct, organize and coordinate all police activities, oversee staff activities, and monitor personnel, you plan staff numbers, schedules, and systems, manage and participate in the service's budget and ensure the follow-up of the service's finances (accounting, guarantee the proper execution of police duties, ensure control of municipal law according to regulations, procedures, and standards in force on public roads, management of permits granted to establishments, etc.), you support and assist at fairs and markets, ensure a presence on the ground and work to develop close relationships and advice focused on prevention and dialogue, participate in prevention actions (youth, road safety, public tranquility), collaborate with the cantonal police to ensure safety, participate in security missions in the framework of special events and emergency cases, collaborate with other municipal services, and maintain regular contacts with external partners (merchants, institutions), advise the Municipality on security, public order, and related issues, prepare reports, analyses, advisories, and decision proposals, participate in the revision of municipal regulations. Your profile: you hold a professional qualification complemented by commercial training, you have completed specialized training in the field of public safety recognized at the federal level (ideally a police officer or non-commissioned officer qualification), you have a management background or can demonstrate confirmed experience in team management and leadership, you have confirmed professional experience (5 to 7 years) in a similar role in a police department, public safety, or comparable field, you have a good knowledge of institutional or public environments and the Swiss and cantonal legal framework in police and public safety, you demonstrate leadership and can unite teams around missions and projects, you cultivate a strong sense of responsibility, demonstrate analytical, decision-making, and priority management capabilities, you are characterized by excellent communication skills and demonstrate a strong sense of order and public service.
