Admin Officer (AO)
Location: London E14 2BE
Pay rate: £15.59 per hour
FULLY OFFICE BASED
If you're an organised, reliable administrator who enjoys making things run smoothly behind the scenes, our client is hiring for an Admin Officer role within a busy government setting. It's a Monday-Friday position offering a steady schedule, structured training, and the chance to support court and tribunal activity where accuracy and professionalism matter.
- Prepare papers, files and documents for court, tribunals, hearings and meetings
- Produce standard court/tribunal documents, letters, correspondence, minutes, notes and reports in line with guidelines
- Maintain and update records on an in-house computer system, ensuring accurate data input
- Support post opening, dispatch, photocopying and filing
- Organise meeting rooms, booking arrangements, agendas, handouts and joining instructions
- Carry out clerking duties across civil and family courts, tribunals and hearings-keeping papers and materials up to date
- Support listing and rota management, check files and assist court users through enquiries (face to face, by phone and in writing)
- Process casework administration such as court orders, claims, fines and fees, legal aid (ensuring correct outcomes and documentation)
- Check and verify documents, records, accounts, claims and returns for approval and quality standards
- Assemble information for daily Team Information Board (TIB) meetings and contribute to maintaining timely, productive sessions
- Complete basic calculations and straightforward reporting, including statistical and financial processing where needed
- Provide customer-focused service with a helpful, "right first time" approach
- Strong admin experience with a genuine eye for detail and accuracy
- Confidence handling records, documents and timelines in a busy environment
- Clear communication skills-professional with the public, judiciary and wider stakeholders
- A team mindset: willing to support colleagues, cross-check work and solve problems together
- Comfort working to workload targets for throughput and accuracy
- Ability to complete basic statistical analysis and carry out straightforward calculations
- Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm (37 hours per week)
- Training provided in the first two weeks
- Assignment starting ASAP, currently up to 31/03/2027 with the possibility of extension
- Clearance: Basic DBS - provided by Brook Street
