Job Description
About the Role

The Blandford School is seeking a highly motivated Guidance and Welfare Administrator to join our dynamic team. The successful applicant will support the pastoral care of Year 7 students and maintain accurate records and communication with families.

Work Hours

37.5 hours per week, term time only (including one additional week during school holidays).

Salary

Grade 6 (SCPS 6 9): £22,569 to £23,668. Full time equivalent: £25,989 - £27,254. Salary is paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and if leaving mid term.

Start Date

1 September 2026.

Employment Type

One year fixed term, initially pending review.

  • Support the pastoral care and behaviour/achievement of students.
  • Communicate with families, students and staff.
  • Keep accurate records.
  • Demonstrate and uphold the values of the school.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Accurate record keeping.
  • Knowledge/experience of IT systems.
  • Teamwork.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Good interpersonal, organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Working knowledge of a range of IT systems (training will be provided).
  • Patience, tact and diplomacy, ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Holding a first aid qualification, or willingness to undertake training, is an advantage.
  • Disclosure and Barring Service check, as per Government's safer recruitment guidance.
  • This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
