Administrative Assistant in Breast Screening (Internal only)

This position is open to staff working at the Trust in the 'ECT Family' this includes currentEast Cheshire NHS Trust employees,both NHSP and ECT bank staff, ISS staff and volunteers at the Trust. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from applicants not listed within these groups.

We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and flexible administrative assistant to join our friendly multidisciplinary team at the Cheshire and Stockport Breast Screening Programme.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of a flexible & hard working team, the post holder will assist in delivering the high standards of the National Health Service Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP). This post will involve accurate computer data entry and audit of screening results, together with dealing with clients both face-to-face and over the telephone in a courteous and efficient manner. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will provide administrative support to the Breast Team.

Duties will include answering telephones, assisting with audits, clinic reception duties, and scheduling of appointments . This is a busy and varied role.

You will need to be able to work using your own initiative and as part of the team.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • GCSEs (A-C/9-4) including English and Maths or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • Business Administration NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent
  • Training to Vocational Level 3 or equivalent
  • Relevant clerical or NHS admin training
  • ECDL Qualification (European Computer Driving Licence)
Knowledge
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
  • An awareness of the aims and principles of the NHSBSP (NHS Breast Screening Programme)
Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
Experience
  • Previous admin experience in a busy office setting
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with NHS clinical or admin systems (e.g. PAS -Patient Administration System, SystmOne, NBSS - National Breast Screening System, CRIS - Clinical Record Interactive Search)
