The Role
  • To ensure an efficient and effective support service by providing a comprehensive confidential secretarial and administrative service to the multi agency South Lanarkshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership.
  • In this key role, you will: Provide a comprehensive, high calibre secretarial and administrative service to the ADP Support Team to support the ADP agenda. A full secretarial and administrative service will include production of letters and reports, drafting routine correspondence, and collating information as required.
  • Manage diary commitments and schedule meetings by liaising with a wide range of staff both internal and external to the NHS to ensure that ADP support team business is progressed.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and telephone calls including prioritising of workload including distribution of mail, initiating action required and setting/noting deadlines for the return of information/replies. Following up of delayed responses and self initiating replies to ensure appropriate and timeous responses.
  • Create and maintain databases for a variety of management team information requirements including absence management and local training data. To produce reports on a regular basis to inform the management team in its delivery of performance management objectives.
What You'll Bring
  • Professional qualification i.e. HNC in a relevant discipline (Business Admin/Secretarial Studies/Public Administration) or equivalent previous experience in a secretarial role. Well developed interpersonal skills in customer care.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good organisational and planning skills.
  • Understanding of a range of procedures and processes.

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part time working hours will be reduced on a pro rated basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
