Location: North Shields NE29 6AR (Parking available on site)
Working Days / Hours: 37 hours Mon-Fri
Working Pattern: 9am - 5pm
Pay Rate: £12.86 per hour
If you're someone who takes pride in getting things right the first time-organised, calm under pressure, and comfortable working with people-this is a great opportunity to support the smooth running of Courts and Tribunals services. Our Client is hiring for a structured, team-based role with room to improve processes through continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing:- Prepare papers, files and court/tribunal documents for hearings, meetings and case progression
- Create and update records on an in-house computer system; complete accurate data input
- Manage post opening and dispatch, plus general photocopying and filing
- Support the booking and organisation of meeting rooms, training and group activity-agendas, handouts and joining instructions included
- Carry out clerking duties for civil and family courts, tribunals and hearings, ensuring materials are up to date
- Assist court users by supporting listing/rota management and checking files
- Handle counter, written and telephone enquiries, delivering a helpful, prompt, polite service
- Contact relevant parties to schedule and serve documents, and execute a range of warrants where required
- Process casework using standard documentation and information (including orders, claims, fines and fees, legal aid)
- Check and verify documents, records, accounts and returns against criteria and procedures; contribute to quality standards
- Produce basic statistical analysis reports and support straightforward financial processing where needed
- Contribute to team information board (TIB) meetings and support problem-solving and small projects
- Strong administrative ability and excellent customer service mindset
- Confidence communicating professionally with the public and internal/external stakeholders
- Accurate attention to detail when inputting, checking and verifying information
- Ability to work to workload targets for throughput and accuracy
- Comfort with discretion and initiative within established systems and processes (SOPS)
- A willingness to work flexibly, including occasional ad hoc support at other local offices if required
You may have regular contact with court/tribunal users, including members of the judiciary and the legal profession.
If you're successful in your application an Enhanced DBS will be required as part of the on-boarding checks with Brook Street.
