Admin Officer

Location & Building: Birkenhead CH41 5HW

Working Days / Hours: 37 hours Mon-Fri

Working Pattern: 9am - 5pm

Pay Rate: £12.86

Our client is hiring an AO to deliver strong administrative and customer-focused support across hearings, cases and operational tasks-making a real difference to users and stakeholders.

What you'll be doing:
  • Prepare for, facilitate and complete administrative tasks to support hearings
  • Provide face-to-face, telephone (incoming/outbound) and correspondence support, including for users with specific or complex needs
  • Use service scripts and knowledge articles to signpost users to the right support and provide clear, consistent information
  • Follow complaints policies and procedures, respond promptly to reduce escalation, and update OPTIC as required
  • Support operational targets by processing work using standard operating procedures
  • Handle case files with accurate data entry, secure information management, and compliance with retention/data-loss protocols
  • Manage jury service activity (selection, deferral, reassignment, attendance tracking) and process related expenses/court fees
  • Assist with listing and scheduling, responding to urgent matters and following listing policies
  • Support enforcement procedures, including financial assessments, fine collection assistance, and basic statistical/financial reporting
  • Contribute to health & safety activity (PEEPs, facility checks, issue logging, and key/safety governance under team leader guidance)
  • Identify risks relating to HMCTS buildings and inform the Senior Person on Site (SPoS) as required
What you'll bring:
  • Confident customer service approach, with empathy and professionalism when dealing with complex needs
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in accurate administration and data handling
  • Ability to follow policies, procedures and respond appropriately under time pressure
  • Clear communication skills across multiple contact methods, including written correspondence
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset-able to act quickly to prevent issues escalating
Additional information:

Some tasks involve handling sensitive information and maintaining strict compliance with governance and protocols.
