Job Description
Admin Coordinator

We are currently seeking a Senior Admin Coordinator to join our busy Diagnostic Cardiology Department. This is a key role within the service, where you will take responsibility for leading your designated area, ensuring booking processes are fully optimised, and maintaining high standards through regular audit and quality checks. You will also provide day to day supervision and support to junior administrative colleagues, helping to ensure the smooth, efficient and patient focused running of the department.

Main duties of the job

You will take the lead for the booking processes within a defined area of Cardiology Diagnostics, ensuring clinics and investigations are scheduled efficiently and in line with service demand. The successful candidate will bring substantial experience in healthcare administration, strong communication skills, and a genuine commitment to improving patient care. You will play a key role in supporting service quality by overseeing booking accuracy, monitoring performance through regular audit, and providing day to day supervision and guidance to junior administrative colleagues.

Job responsibilities
  • Scheduling cardiology diagnostic tests.
  • Maintaining spreadsheets and data bases.
  • Monitoring patient waits and highlighting concerns to the senior team.
  • Supervising junior team members.
Person Specification Qualifications
  • GCSE maths and English
  • Typing / word processing qualification
  • NVQ in business and administration or equivalent
Experience
  • Experience of working in a customer-facing role.
  • High Level Microsoft Office software Previous experience of working in an office environment
  • Ability to work as an effective team member.
  • Experience of healthcare systems
  • Experience of working within the NHS
Communication and relationship skills
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, including excellent written and oral skills.
