Post: Acute Access Manager

Salary: Agenda for Change Band 8A

Tenure: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours

Location: Acute Access Team, JB Russell House

Relocation Package where appropriate

The post holder will provide leadership, focus and guidance to the Patient Access agenda for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

The key focus of the role is to scope, develop, and manage processes that will deliver waiting time targets across GGC. A key priority of the role is to specifically ensure that all appropriate actions are enacted that systematically manage and reduce patient waits, ensuring delivery of national waiting times guarantees and targets across each Acute Sector and Clinical Specialty.

The post holder will play a key role in creating a supporting structure to deliver the National Access Targets and ensure that productive links are established with Acute General Managers and Clinical Service Managers. The post holder will work closely with Acute operational teams to ensure waiting recovery objectives are met.

To lead and coordinate the delivery of services using the private sector for in-sourced and out-sourced contracts from initial business case to monitoring post-award transfer of contract to services.

The post holder will act in a monitoring and compliance role for the Director of Access to ensure appropriate measurement of performance and consideration for change.

The Acute Access Manager needs to be cognisant of the impact of changes on the ability to deliver operational services and therefore meet performance measures such as waiting times.

The post holder will utilise project management skills to lead on and deliver with colleagues the project objectives as well as initiating and contributing to service redesign/ transformation for achievement and maintenance of Acute Divisional operational targets and modernisation of acute care delivery.

It is anticipated that the post holder will be primarily office-based to support the Director of Access and Chief Operating Officer and to develop team working.
