This role sits within our Delegated Authority (DA) pricing team for Motor Personal Lines and SME portfolios. You'll be ensuring that top quality analysis is carried out to support our MGA & DA partners with their pricing and support the wider business in tracking and improving their performance against their financial targets.

Responsibilities

• Pricing analysis - working with a variety of datasets to produce high quality pricing analyses in support of our partners, helping to improve the quality of their pricing.
• Portfolio monitoring - developing and maintaining our data and portfolio monitoring dashboards which are used and trusted by a variety of stakeholders, and utilising these to forecast and communicate emerging performance and key portfolio trends.
• New deals - working collaboratively with other functions to diligently assess the performance of potential new DA portfolios, and assisting with a robust onboarding process when deals are agreed.
• Process improvement - developing and maintaining systems and processes through innovation, incorporating efficiencies and improvements as standard.
• Collaborating - building strong relationships across the company (claims, reserving, underwriting, finance) and our DA partners, providing a first class service and trusted insights, and helping to foster a strong data driven culture.
• Technical skills - the chance to learn and use SQL, R, Power BI, technical confidence on various pricing techniques and more.
• Professionalism - demonstrating strong knowledge of relevant actuarial disciplines and standards, to ensure you are able to provide first class service to our stakeholders.

• Coaching & mentoring - opportunities to help develop the technical and non technical skills of more junior team members, with the possibility of line management if having the right experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in General Insurance Actuarial roles, preferably with exposure to delegated authority business.
• Highly numerate and analytical, with strong technical ability and financial awareness.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent teamworking and time management skills.
• Self motivated with an eagerness to learn and develop.
• Excellent market, risk and business awareness.
• Skilled at working with a range of tools, such as MS Office, SQL, R, Power BI.
• Working towards or recently achieved Actuarial qualifications is preferred.
