Job Description

37.5 Hours per week over 5 days - including alternate weekends. If you are passionate about caring for the elderly and want to build a long term career in one of our award winning homes, Akari Care welcomes you.

Main duties of the job

As Activities Coordinator you will work with the Home Manager and community teams to create an inclusive, socially engaging environment for residents. Your responsibilities include planning and delivering a variety of activities that meet the diverse tastes, abilities and cultural backgrounds of all residents, while promoting diversity and inclusion at every stage. You will initiate rolling and individual programmes, encourage residents to maintain pre existing hobbies and explore new ones, support and motivate colleagues, relatives and friends to participate, and accompany residents to off site activities when possible. Additionally, you will assist with innovative fund raising initiatives, budget entertainment, materials and outings, and help maintain a secure and caring atmosphere that respects each resident's dignity and individuality.
