Acting CNM2 (Oncology Day Unit)

A vacancy has arisen within the Galway Clinic for the above position. This role is a temporary basis (maternity leave cover) full time, 37.5 hours per week.

The Acting Clinical Nurse Manager 2 will be responsible for co ordinating, managing and leading the development and delivery of nursing services in the Oncology Day Unit. The primary role is one of clinical and professional leadership in the nursing team. They will demonstrate a high level of skill and competency to aid the efficient, effective care and supportive care of patients through the unit, coordination and management of activity and resources within the clinical area. The successful candidate would be expected to play a key role in patient and family education regarding their plan of care, treatment plan and potential side effects and associated management.

• Be registered / eligible to register in the General Division of the NMBI Nurse Register.
• Nursing experience 5 years in total with at least 2-3 years Oncology nursing experience or related area.
• Have proven Clinical, Leadership, Managerial & Customer Care skills.
• Proactive approach to planning with effective co ordination of resources.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate staff.
• Flexibility in work practices.
