Accountant Band 7

Accountant Band 7, Omagh, Public Sector, 12-month contract with possible extension.

Your new company
You will work for a leading public sector organisation based in Omagh. This is a 12-month contract role with a possible extension of a further 12 months.

Your new role
Working as Band 7 in the Financial Assessments and Direct Payments department, you will be responsible for the provision of an effective, efficient and economic Financial Assessments and Direct payments function. You will also have responsibility for the management of two Cash Offices and a number of other accounting functions. You will manage the department systems and processes, ensuring they are fit for purpose. You will ensure appropriate banking and cash management arrangements are in place for Public Funds, Charitable Funds and client's monies. You will support the Head of Financial Services in meeting financial management and performance targets, securing continuous improvement and providing high-quality and effective services within a clear financial framework.

What you'll need to succeed
Essential Criteria:Full membership of one of the five professional accounting institutes within the CCAB or CIMA AND a minimum of two years' experience in a senior finance role
Experience in providing complex financial information, analysing and interpreting a range of financial information, extensive use of financial systems for debtors, creditors, stock and the general ledger and working with both internal and external stakeholders.
Delivered against challenging financial and reporting agendas, meeting a range of key targets
Effective communication skills with a track record of working with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation, to achieve successful outcomes
Successfully demonstrated people management, leadership and organisational skills for a minimum of 2 years
Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.

You will work for a public sector body on a 12-month contract, with a possible 12-month extension. You will work full-time hours and be offered a Band 7 salary.
