Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Manage general ledger activities, including payroll, pensions, expenses, accruals, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.

  • Oversee and review work completed by offshore teams, ensuring compliance with internal controls and reporting standards.

  • Assist in preparing tax returns (CIT, VAT, etc.) and ensure accurate filings within regulatory deadlines.

  • Analyze financial data to provide insights for variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Prepare materials for regulatory and internal reporting, including board and committee presentations.

  • Support external and internal audits, maintaining high-quality documentation and governance.

Qualifications:

  • Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant, or equivalent experience in accounting or audit.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a financial institution, preferably within an international group.

  • Strong understanding of depositary banking operations, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience with general ledger systems (Oracle or similar preferred).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and German.

  • Comfortable overseeing processes handled by offshore teams.
