Job Description

Salary: Up to £58,000 (excluding profit share and bonus)

Hours: 4-day (34-hour) week with flexible working

Holiday: 26 days' holiday (pro rata), plus Bank Holidays

About the role

We're now looking for a strategic, client-focused Account Director with proven leadership in medical education and communications to join our team on a hybrid basis in the UK.

Reporting to a Group Account Director, you'll oversee cross-functional teams and play a central role in shaping impactful medical communications programmes within a successful, independent agency.

Day to day, you'll be the senior point of contact for clients, guiding project teams, and ensuring delivery of high-quality outputs across accounts. You'll drive strategic planning, oversee budgets and resourcing, nurture long-term client partnerships, and identify opportunities for business growth. This is a senior leadership role that combines client consultancy, business development, and team mentorship with hands-on oversight of delivery.

  • Significant experience (typically 6+ years) in medical communications or healthcare education, with a strong background in client services.
  • Proven ability to lead complex accounts and deliver a wide range of medical education projects, such as events, publications, training programmes, and digital initiatives.
  • Confidence in providing strategic client consultancy and overseeing multi-project account delivery.
  • Leadership skills to inspire teams, mentor colleagues, and maintain a positive, solutions-focused working environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen - able to oversee budgets, manage account health, and identify business growth opportunities.
  • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical compliance frameworks and client-facing platforms.
