Position Details

Temporary until July 2027, full time, 37 hours per week.

Role Summary

As an Accommodation Officer within the Asylum & Migration Team, you will play a vital role in preventing homelessness and helping people secure safe, suitable, and affordable accommodation. Working as part of the wider Homelessness Service, you will focus on early prevention and intervention, exploring all available housing options and ensuring solutions are delivered in line with homelessness legislation.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a key link between Housing Associations, supported accommodation providers, private landlords, letting agents, and Key Choices, building strong working relationships to maximise access to accommodation.
  • Regularly contact providers to monitor availability, arrange and attend property viewings, and ensure appointments and move ins run smoothly.
  • Collaborate closely with the Homelessness and Rough Sleeper Teams and partner agencies to coordinate ongoing support and resettlement.
  • Support households at risk of homelessness in the private rented sector, negotiating with landlords to prevent or delay evictions wherever possible.
Employment Checks

Access to the Public Services Network. If successful, you will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records check at the Basic level (unspent criminal convictions).
