Job type: Permanent, 35 hour week contact (39 hour week salary scale).
Overview of rolePatient Services Lead will manage, guide and supervise the patient service advisor team to successfully manage patient administration services day to day. This role includes oversight of patient service operations, finance collaboration, service delivery and stakeholders engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the patient services team covering registration & clearance, admissions & discharge, claims & reimbursement management, medical records filing, health information & clinical support, administration support.
- Collaborate with finance to improve billing and payment processes.
- Lead delivery of patient focused service, quality and efficiency.
- Support clinical team in managing clinical research trial patients.
- Assist in preparation for accreditation surveys.
- Identify and act on training needs for the team.
- Participate in cross departmental service focus groups.
- Promote the department, build business relationships with stakeholders (consultants, GP's, other health institutions, community representatives).
- Ensure communication systems support stakeholder engagement.
- Provide analysis of patient demographics, GP referral patterns and population trends.
- Report regularly to management on business development plans, programmes and budgets.
- Handle patient queries regarding pricing and payment, ensure all fees captured in advance of surgery/treatment.
- Coordinate with finance on patient account status and payment capture.
- Develop departmental rota, seek staff agreement and meet organisational needs.
- Oversee daily cash collection, balance and lodgement; follow up on issues with Assistant Accountant.
- Collect monthly patient satisfaction surveys and forward to management.
- Perform medical secretary tasks for consultants as required.
- Collaborate with IT on timely resolution of system issues.
- Take reasonable care of own health & safety and others at work.
- Co operate with UPMC to comply with statutory regulations and departmental rules.
- Avoid intent or reckless interference with health and safety provisions.
- Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of patient and company data.
- Disclose information only as authorised; unauthorized disclosure is a serious offence.
- Ensure information is accurate, recorded and monitored in line with quality and records management schemes.

Qualifications
- Recognised business qualification at least diploma level.
Experience
- At least 2 years people management experience, preferably in healthcare.

€40,500.00 - €59,064.80 per annum based on a 39 hour week.
