Job Description
Overview

Access and Security Officer ( Quadram Institute ) - GG705. This role is based in the Quadram Institute building, delivering first-class security functions with a strong customer focus and working as part of the UEA Security team.

Responsibilities
  • Operate in the Quadram Institute building, providing security services and maintaining a safe, secure and sustainable environment for staff and visitors and their property, 24 hours a day, throughout the year.
  • Act as a first responder for incidents and as a point of contact for information.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure safety and security of the premises and personnel.
Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • SIA Static Guarding or Door Supervision Licence.
  • Substantial recent experience of working in a similar security environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer care skills; ability to remain calm and professional in all circumstances.
  • Sensitivity to the needs and views of others is essential.
Working pattern

You will be expected to work a four on, four off 12-hour rotational shift pattern that includes days and nights.

Qualifications and compliance
  • This full-time post is available immediately on an indefinite basis.
  • This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
  • Background screening check through BardWood will be conducted during the selection process.

Salary on appointment will be £28,600 per annum, with an annual increment up to £30,231 per annum.
