The Role:
The System Operations team is responsible for ensuring that the operation of the power system is carried out in a safe, secure and economic manner.
The System Operations team requires a senior engineer to undertake a variety of roles related to the facilitation of maintenance and network development on the power system in an efficient manner, whilst maintaining system security. There will also be a requirement to support emergency preparedness and training activities. The purpose of this role is to support the goals of the System Operations team, by working in close cooperation with both control centres in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The successful candidate will have:
- An engineering degree or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years' experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to work under minimal supervision independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively with customers and with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong work ethic, excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Experience of working in power system operations or a similar area.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Desirable: Experience in performing power system analysis and proficiency in the use of power flow analysis tools. Understanding of the industry, environment and context.
