x2 18 month fixed term/secondment opportunity.
An exciting position has become available for 2 Band 6 secondments on Ward 23, General Medicine.
On Ward 23 we care for patients with a wide range of acute medical conditions and we are looking for someone who is dynamic, hardworking and enthusiastic.
We are looking for a strong leader who can support and lead with compassion at the forefront of their practice. The applicant will work clinically alongside the medical team, leading by example and following best practice to help deliver the best standards of care to our patients. The role will involve exposure to management tasks and deputising for the Lead Nurse in their absence. Management tasks will involve: roster management, sickness management, clinical governance (incident report investigations, RCAs, AARs, learning), supporting staff development (including management of capability) and quality improvement initiatives.
The secondment is an ideal opportunity for continued professional development and progression and will allow the candidate access to additional training, for example leadership courses.

Main duties of the jobThe candidate will provide senior leadership within the team.
They will:
- Work clinically and support junior members of staff.
- Deputise in the Lead Nurse's absence.
- Be involved in management tasks such as: rostering, sickness management, investigating incident reports, root cause analysis, etc.
- Be involved in improving the service provided through quality improvement initiatives.
- Carry out continual professional development to improve personally as well as supporting others with professional development, including students.
