Second Line Team Leader
Location: Greater Manchester
Salary: £45,000 plus excellent benefits
Contract: Full time, Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a technically hands on Second Line Team Leader to take ownership of a large scale Intune estate supporting over 12,000 devices. This role would suit a highly skilled second line engineer ready to take the next step into leadership, or someone with prior experience leading a small team in a fast paced environment.

About the Role
You will lead and coordinate a second line support team of 7 to 9 engineers, providing expert guidance across endpoint management, hardware support and end user software troubleshooting. This is a key operational role responsible for ensuring effective delivery of second line processes and maintaining high standards of service across a complex and growing estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead all second line support processes across a 12,000 device environment
  • Act as the technical lead on endpoint management, device compliance and Intune configuration
  • Oversee and support hardware provisioning, troubleshooting and life cycle activity
  • Resolve escalated incidents and drive resolution of complex software issues
  • Manage team workload, performance and development, ensuring consistent high quality service
  • Coordinate with third party suppliers and internal teams to maintain service levels
  • Ensure all procedures, knowledge articles and asset records are accurate and up to date
  • Deliver regular updates to stakeholders and identify service improvement opportunities
About You
You will have:
  • Strong hands on experience with Microsoft Intune, end user device management and troubleshooting
  • Solid knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware support within enterprise environments
  • Proven background in second line support with exposure to large or complex estates
  • Excellent problem solving and organisational skills
  • Previous leadership experience or evidence of mentoring and coordinating small teams
  • A clear understanding of service management principles and IT support best practice
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally when required
Experience managing or supporting a similar scale of devices and environments is highly desirable, as is a background in improving or implementing second line processes.
