2nd Line Support Engineer

Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for customer service? Our client is on the lookout for a dedicated 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their dynamic team on a temporary basis. Role: 2nd Line Support Engineer

Contract Type: Temporary

Daily Rate: £21.25 per hour (£21.93 per hour post AWR), inside IR35 paid to Umbrella

Working Pattern: Full Time, on-site, East Midlands

Key Responsibilities:

As a 2nd Line Support Engineer, you will:

  • Provide a resolution path for incidents and service requests identified by the Service Desk.
  • Offer face-to-face, email, and telephone support to users across all sites.
  • Deliver technical support for customer moves and changes.
  • Respond quickly to hardware/software failures and priority incidents.
  • Support critical services.
  • Ensure all work aligns with IT standards and best practises.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Escalate complex issues to the End User Technology Support Team Leader when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of equipment deployment and asset registers.
  • Analyse and diagnose a range of End User Technology problems, from desktop hardware to Client Server communication failures.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant technical certifications or a degree in Information Technology or related fields.
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a 2nd Line Engineer.
  • Preferable experience within NHS.
  • Strong understanding of desktop operating systems, hardware components, and software applications.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practises and service desk processes.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
