Job Description

We are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual to join our skilled technical team as an Associate Practitioner. This post is within the busy Microbiology Department based in the Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. The post holder will have the opportunity to join a strong team working within a modern medical laboratory located on the outskirts of Dumfries.

The successful applicant will provide a supporting role to the professional clinical laboratory service. Rotation around sections within in the microbiology processing and reporting certain sample types.

You will require good keyboard skills, the ability to work accurately under pressure and a flexible approach to work. Experience of working in an NHS Microbiology laboratory is essential.

Weekend working on a rotational basis or shift system will be required. Working patterns will be as required by the needs of the service. You may be required to rotate into other laboratory disciplines at the needs of the service

Interviews will be held In-person only at the Laboratories, Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, Dumfries.
