To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

We will fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service. Further information on what NHS Scotland Boards are required to do to check this as well as what your responsibilities include can be found in the further information for this vacancy.

Do you want to make an impact in health intelligence?

We are expanding our Analytical Services team at NHS Lothian and are looking for Senior Information Analysts to join us. We are looking for experienced analysts who can work closely with a range of customers at strategic and operational levels to understand and find solutions to complex analytical problems and communicate intelligence clearly and effectively in a way that makes an impact. You'll work collaboratively across the health and social care system to deliver impactful, high quality information and intelligence that supports decision making to improve services and patient care.

For our Senior Information Analyst role, you should be able to demonstrate your expertise with complex data analysis in at least one structured programming language such as R, Python or SQL. In addition, you will be experienced in the presentation of complex data to a variety of audiences, using data visualisation techniques. Our main departmental office is at Westport, Edinburgh, although hybrid working is the norm, and you would be expected to be flexible across NHS Lothian sites if required.

The use of the term "Senior" in the Band 6 post refers only to the level of experience and responsibility required for this post rather than age. As such, applications from people of all ages are welcomed, subject to meeting the relevant criteria. Candidates will have a relevant numerate degree. We cannot accept CVs as a form of application and only a completed online application form will be accepted. Personal information will not be sent with the application for short listing. The application form will be identified by the candidate number only to ensure that all applicants are treated equally.
