Senior Research Nurse (The use of the term "Senior" or "Junior" in this post refers only to the level of experience and responsibility required for this post rather than age. As such, applications from people of all ages are welcomed, subject to meeting the relevant criteria)

Band 6, Fixed Term Contract 2 years (Although offered on a fixed term basis, it may be possible to extend tenure beyond this term)

37 hours per week

The Edinburgh Critical Care Research Group has an excellent reputation for critical care, anaesthetic and peri-operative research.

We are looking for an NMC registered nurse with post registration experience of working in Critical Care, Theatres / Recovery or who has clinical research nursing experience.

The successful applicant will work as part of our busy Research Nurse team, to be based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, but will also provide cover at the Western General Hospital site too.

The post will involve study setup, initiation, screening, recruitment and coordination, as well as direct and indirect care of study patients and their families.

The post holder will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, should be self-motivated and able to use their own initiative.

They may be required to work some unsocial hours, including weekends, so will also need a flexible approach to working.
