Join NHS Lothian as a Band 7 Knowledge Systems and Services Manager
Are you an experienced leader with a passion for advancing digital knowledge services to get evidence into day-to-day practice across health and social care? NHS Lothian is seeking to establish this new post to shape and oversee our knowledge systems and drive strategic development in use of digital knowledge across multiple workstreams. This will include a central focus on NHS Lothian's strategic use of the national Right Decision Service platform to deliver evidence as decision support and drive evidence-based practice and improvement across health and social care. You will also lead on a wider range of internal and external digital knowledge developments to support decision-making and service improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the development and delivery of digital knowledge resources. This includes a primary focus on delivery of decision support through the national Right Decision Service, as well as delivery of digital knowledge through Intranet, e-learning, Teams channels, the national Library Management System and other digital applications
including intranet, e-learning, and knowledge sharing platforms
- Oversee programme management, planning, and risk mitigation across various projects
- Collaborate with clinical and managerial stakeholders to lead development and implementation of NHS Lothian's strategy around use of the Right Decision Service and digital knowledge and evidence more broadly.
- Develop and deliver training in creating and using digital knowledge, and measure service impact
- Foster effective relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Lead development of an NHS Lothian-wide focus on decision-making through evidence-based practice and knowledge mobilisation
What we are looking for:
- Master's qualification in knowledge management, librarianship, informatics or a related field
- Experienced leader with the ability to innovate, shape new services scope, identify priorities and promote the value of the Right Decision Service and other digital knowledge services within NHS Lothian
- Extensive programme management and leadership experience within health or social care environments
- Proven ability to develop digital knowledge systems, deliver training, and communicate complex information
- Skills and experience across a range of knowledge mobilisation approaches.
- Strong skills in evidence searching and summarising, data analysis and interpretation and report writing
- Knowledge of GDPR and data privacy principles
PLEASE NOTE This is a full time position and will involve hybrid working including travel to all NHS Lothian sites.
