Accountable to the General Manager for managing and controlling the South East Scottish Cancer Research Network (SESCRN), covering cancer research in NHS Lothian, Borders, Fife, and Dumfries & Galloway. Ensures achievement of business performance objectives within quality standards and contributes to the corporate management of the Service through the Cancer Management Team.
The Network Manager plays a key role in the infection prevention and control programme by promoting a culture of compliance and facilitating adherence to policies. This ensures NHS Lothian meets locally and nationally set targets for reducing Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI), as well as complies with legal requirements and guidelines outlined by UK research regulatory bodies such as MHRA and REC. The post holder will provide leadership and strategic direction to the medical, nursing, tissue collection, data management, cancer informatics, and innovation teams.
Responsible for providing operational support to the General Manager in the efficient and effective delivery of the Local Research Programme (LRP).
The Network Manager ensures patient flow is optimized across all services and manages research funds and strategic partnerships to maximize access to an extensive portfolio of clinical trials for cancer patients across South East Scotland, covering all cancer types and disease stages.
